May 2024 The Premier League season finishes in very nail biting style!
Manchester City and Arsenal fight it out until the last game, both need to win.
Arsenal win, but then of course so do City, so City win the Premier League for a record fourth time in a row!

Then the second all Manchester FA Cup Final, City going for the League and Cup Double and missing out, United going for the cup and getting it!

No Champions League Final for any of the British Clubs this year, the nearest we got was Aston Villa losing in the Semi final of the Europa Conference League.
But of course Real Madrid won it, for an unbelievable 15th time!

The 3 relegation spots went unsurprisingly to the the 3 teams that came up from the Championship last Season, Sheffield United, Burnley and Luton. Luton did at least take it down to the last game, but were never going to overcome a 13 goal deficit in the Goal Difference, even with a win.

Same old, same old, yet another disappointing season for Tranmere, we managed to throw away promotion in about August and finally got clear of Relegation in about February, Shocking!

Really bright spot was Rob Apter, a loanee from Blackpool, trouble is, he did too well and now we will never get to keep him, ho hum.

Leicester and Ipswich have won promotion back to the Premier League, Leicester straight back, Ipswich for the first time in over 20 years!
The Play-offs sending Southampton back to the land of VAR, or will it be? It has been put forward that the Premier League teams will vote on whether to scrap the dreadful scheme.

If of course they do decide to keep it, it really must improve and be used properly and in the way that it was intended. Not to scutinise every decision, but to correct any clear and obvious mistakes.

We also have a new team in the EFL, Bromley, well done. Chesterfield have returned from the National League and Bromley won the Play-offs. Forest Green's tenure in the EFL has come to an end as has Sutton United's.
