So, my first ramble. Here we are in the middle of lockdown, I've painted the shed, the toolstore, the fence. I've even painted the metalwork on the shed door and the gate (hinges, bolts etc), black.
I've tidied the shed (even emptied cupboards, sorted, thrown stuff away, then put the things back), tidied the garage to a degree, enough that I now have a clear path to the dartboard, and am seriously comtemplating painting thr garage floor. I'm in the midst of chiselling the concrete in the doorway so that the door closes and I don't have to kick it. When this is complete I will then paint the garage door. I have bought some Racing Green coloured paint for the job and have told my wife that if I paint it Racing Green then I will have to put a yellow stripe down the door along with a white circle to put our house number in (Lotus BRM43, look it up!)
Then I get an email from work to say that we may start going back to work in the next couple of weeks! Disaster.
I've been doing all the outside jobs because the weather has been so nice, I've not done any of the inside ones yet! (That is except taking all the handles off of the kitchen cupboards and cleaning them with methylated spirit and replacing them)
One thing that I have achieved, I've tidied/sorted part of the loft. It was tidy, but I was trying to find my Scalextric (don't ask why, I don't have any room to lay it out!). I found 2 boxes of track and then right at the bottom, at the back (obviously) I found the box with the cars and the transformers, Hoorah.
I have tested them, so I know that they work, now all I need to do is put them all back together. In tidying the loft I have taken the opportunity to update and type up my list of contents of the boxes that are stored up there.
Whilst outside I have of course tidied up the garden, cut the grass a number of times now, raked the moss out of it, weeded, tidied bushes, removed a quantity of compost from the bottom of the bin, which I have crumbled and have drying out in my barrow. This has given me enough room to fill it back up again!
I've even started growing stuff. Namely Chard, Leeks, Lettuce, Beetroot, Tomatoes and Cress as well as 2 bags of Potatoes. I've reconstructed the mesh frame that protects my strawberry plants and am in the throws of renovating my vintage garden roller (AW Gamage of London).
