F.A. Cup finalists Arsenal, should by all rights have won this encounter. In
the previous three occasions that these teams had met in a Major Cup final Arsenal had won.
1950 F.A.Cup - Won 2-0
1971 F.A.Cup - Won 2-1
1987 League Cup - Won 2-1
To add to this, on the first two occasions that Chelsea have won the F.A. Cup (1970 & 1997) Arsenal have won the Cup the following year.
Chelsea won it in 2000!
