Chelsea Portsmouth, the Champions against the team that finished bottom of the table. Chelsea hit the woodwork 5 times in the first half, then had a ball bounce on the line and out.
Incredibly, it was Portsmouth who missed the first penalty, not the best penalty, saved by the keeper, and then for the first time, two penalty misses in a cup final. Chelsea, at one nil, missed one but carried on to win.
This win also meant that Chelsea had completed the League and Cup double, the first time that they had done so.
To add to this, the Portsmouth manager Avram Grant was a former Chelsea manager!
